MBABANE – The Olympafrica in Lobamba and Bosco Skills Centre in Manzini are two venues set to host the much-anticipated return of the two-day Volleyball Gallore Season 2, that is scheduled for August 3-4, 2024.
The tournament will be played at these venues on different days, with the Olympafrica hosting it on Saturday (August 3, 2024) and Bosco Skill Centre hosting it on Sunday (August 4, 2024), marking the end of the tournament.
The tournament organised by the Phoenix Volleyball Club promises to be a thrilling showcase of local volleyball talent. According to one of the organisers Zandile Dlamini, this year’s event has attracted 17 male teams and seven female teams, all eager to compete for glory.
Dlamini also mentioned that while only local teams are eligible this year, there are ambitious plans to expand the tournament internationally next year. Teams from Lesotho and South Africa were interested to participate in this year’s edition.
The stakes are high, with the first-place team set to receive E2 000 and medals, the second-place team E1 500 and medals while the third-place team is guaranteed E800 plus medals. Additionally, there will also be individual recognition as prizes will be awarded to five outstanding players, and a token of appreciation will be given to all participating teams.
