MBABANE – The Eswatini Sports and Recreation Council (ESRC) hosted a memorable National Disability Day.
The sports mother body hosted the event in Lobamba which started with a walk before they were engaged in different sporting codes games including aerobics, chess, wheelchair basketball, football, teqball, volleyball, table tennis, cricket, kid’s athletics and netball among others.
There were over 100 people who attended the event including those living with disability as they engaged in action. Leading the walk was the, Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) band Sports mother body (ESRC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Darius Dlomo, Business Manager Zama Tsabedze, Director of Sports Lucky Sihlongonyane and representatives from the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA).
The walk started at the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Lobamba Technical Centre and moved around the area. There was a banner that was in the front reads: ‘Disability is not inability’, break the barriers, play together, which was speaking on the theme of the day, #InclusiveParticipationForAll #sports4all
“Thank you Eswatini for your participation, for showing how your strength lies in being differently abled and continuously breaking barriers not only on competitive stages but in other areas of life too,” reads a statement from ESRC.
