PLE CONGRATULATES AMAJUKUJUKU FC ON INGWENYAMA CUP REGIONAL VICTORY

MBABANE – The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) has extended its congratulations to Amajukujuku FC for their triumph in the Ingwenyama Cup Regional Tournament.

The Hhohho-based team secured their victory by edging out Manzini’s Nsenga Comrades 5-4 in a penalty shootout, claiming the championship title and the E42,500 grand prize. The team was also presented with the tournament trophy in recognition of their outstanding performance.

PLE Chairman, Polycarp Dlamini, expressed his delight over the successful conclusion of the tournament during a press conference on Monday. He commended Amajukujuku FC for their hard-fought victory and praised the smooth execution of the games. He also lauded the supporters for maintaining discipline and creating an electrifying atmosphere.

“The tournament was well-organized, and we are pleased that everything went according to plan. We appreciate the fans who came out in numbers to support their teams. Their enthusiasm and commitment to local football are invaluable,” said Dlamini.

The final match, along with the semi-finals, took place at the Manzini Club. Nsenga Comrades, as runners-up, walked away with a prize of E22,500.

Dlamini further encouraged football fans to continue supporting local tournaments, including the Ingwenyama Cup, which has now reached the quarter-final stage. The draw for the quarter-finals has already taken place, but the exact dates, venues, and kick-off times are yet to be announced by the organizing committee.

Meanwhile, the Ingwenyama Cup Traditional Competitions are set to commence this weekend. The Hhohho Region’s edition will take place on Saturday at Buhleni Sports Ground, followed by the Manzini Region’s competition on Sunday at Mavuso Sports Centre.
