PM ARRIVES SAFELY IN BELGIUM

MBABANE – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has arrived safely in Brussels, the capital of Belgium.

Dlamini arrived in the European country on 19 February 2025, after having left in the afternoon of 18 February 2025 through King Mswati III International Airport in Sikhuphe.

The premier will be part of the 3rd Annual Global Council for Political Renewal (GCPR).The prime minister was welcomed by the Ambassador of Eswatini to Belgium, Her Excellency Sibusisiwe Mngomezulu.

During his visit, the premier is scheduled to address the European Parliament, where he will present and unpack Eswatini’s Tinkhundla system of governance. His address aims to provide European lawmakers with a deeper understanding of the country’s unique political structure and governance model.

Furthermore, the PM is set to engage in a bilateral meeting with European Commission Director General H.E. Koen Doens, among other key discussions. These engagements seek to strengthen Eswatini’s diplomatic ties with the European Union and explore potential areas of collaboration.

The PM’s participation in the GCPR summit underscores Eswatini’s commitment to global political dialogue and governance innovation. His engagements in Brussels are expected to contribute to ongoing discussions on political renewal, sustainable development, and international cooperation.

According to the GCPR, the participants may include political leaders such as presidents, prime ministers, parliament speakers, ministers, MPs, senators, state legislators, city mayors, councillors, ambassadors, academics, and civil society leaders from around the world.

The GCPR is a global organisation bringing together politicians at all levels around the world. Any member of a political party (or legislature) in any country or region is eligible to become a member of the GCPR. The purposes of the GCPR are to promote the cooperation of politicians at all levels across the world, encourage a high standard of ethics and civic discourse in political life, and strive for global peace and justice.
