PM JOINS WORLD LEADERS AT US-AFRICA SUMMIT

MBABANE – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has joined global leaders at the US-Africa Summit currently being held in Luanda, Angola.

This significant event aims to strengthen economic ties and investment opportunities between the United States and African nations.

Key Speakers and Opening Remarks

The Summit was officially opened by:

– Ambassador Troy Fitrell, Senior Bureau Official at the Bureau of African Affairs, US Department of State.

– President H.E João Lourenço of Angola.

– H.E Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission.

– H.E Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of AfCFTA.

Prime Minister’s Participation

Prime Minister Dlamini departed for Luanda on Sunday, June 22, 2025, and arrived in the afternoon to participate in the discussions aimed at enhancing collaboration between the U.S. and African nations.

Purpose and Goals of the Summit

The International Trade Administration highlights the Summit’s objectives:

– Showcasing Africa’s Growing Economy: The event focuses on attracting foreign investment across vital sectors, including energy, infrastructure, ICT, finance, agribusiness, and healthcare.

– Gathering of Stakeholders: The Summit typically attracts around 1,500 attendees from 40 countries, including 50 Heads of State, providing a platform for U.S. companies to establish key partnerships and access market insights.
