MBABANE – It was joy and happiness for the residents of Siphofaneni Constituency, as Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini opened a service centre and handed over two Toyota Quantum kombis worth E1.7 million.

The event took place today (Thursday, August 8, 2024) at Siphofaneni. The Prime minister was accompanied, among other people, by Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development Sikhumbuzo Dlamini.

Speaking during the event, the prime minister said what happened today at Siphofaneni showed that Government wanted services to be decentralised so that they could be easily accessed by Emaswati. “It is good to note that the people from this place will no longer have to travel to Mbabane to get service, as many of Government services will now be accessible here,” Dlamini said.

The premier said Government was going to bring such developments to five other constituencies very soon. Siphofaneni Member of Parliament (MP) Nomalungelo Simelane expressed her gratitude to Government for ensuring that the development took place at Siphofaneni.

Addressing the premier, Simelane pleaded with him to ensure that the development taking place at Siphofaneni prioritised the residents of that constituency, in terms of employment and other benefits.

The prime minister handed over the mini-buses to an association known as Lunyawo Lwemntfwana. The association applied for the vehicles through the Regional Development Fund (RDF). Lunyawo Lwemntfwana Chairperson Vusi Mamba said their organisation focused on transporting school learners to and from school.

Mamba mentioned that previously, they used seven-seater vehicles for this purpose, but they could not get permits. Minister Sikhumbuzo Dlamini said they were working on speeding up the service rendered through the RDF and stated that they were going to make sure that Emaswati were served efficiently.
