MBABANE – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has urged nations to embrace the diversity of governance systems as a pathway to true political renewal.
He said this at the 3rd Annual Meeting of the Global Council for Political Renewal in Brussels, Belgium.
Embracing Unique Approaches
Speaking under the theme “Together for Ethics, Justice & Peace,” the PM stressed that “true political renewal is not in the forced conformity to a single model, but in the willingness to embrace different approaches that work for different societies.” His remarks highlighted the value of tailoring governance to meet the unique cultural and social needs of each nation, rather than adhering to a one-size-fits-all model.
A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity
Dlamini also underscored Eswatini’s successful blend of traditional wisdom with modern dialogue. He celebrated cultural institutions such as the Incwala and Umhlanga ceremonies, which have long united the nation, even during challenging times. “Our world is stronger when we respect and celebrate diversity in governance,” he declared, emphasizing that the fusion of tradition and progressive ideas lays the foundation for sustainable development and social cohesion.
Building Bridges Across Borders
In his address, the premier highlighted the importance of cross-border collaborations that enable countries to learn from one another while maintaining their distinct identities. This approach, he noted, not only fosters innovative solutions to shared challenges but also strengthens the bonds of global understanding and cooperation.
A Vision for Peace and Ethical Leadership
Eswatini remains committed to upholding peace and fostering ethical leadership, ensuring that its governance system continues to serve the aspirations of its people. Dlamini’s call to appreciate the richness of diverse governance models is a powerful reminder that global progress comes from building bridges of understanding rather than barriers of judgment.
With his positive and forward-looking vision, Dlamini inspires nations to explore innovative paths in governance—paths that honor both cultural heritage and the promise of a just, peaceful future
