LOZITHA – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has called on Emaswati to recognize and embrace the beauty of the governance system centred around the monarchy.
Speaking at the Beginning of Year Service at Mandvulo Grand Hall, the PM emphasized the importance of preserving this unique system as a cornerstone of unity and prosperity.
Dlamini echoed sentiments shared earlier by former South African President Jacob Zuma, who praised Eswatini’s monarchy for fostering humility and unity among its people. Zuma highlighted the significance of a monarchy-led governance model, suggesting that other African nations could benefit from reverting to monarchies to restore order and promote harmony. He expressed hope that empowering monarchies in his home country could bring about peace and prosperity.
“The humility and unity observed in Eswatini are largely due to the role of the monarchy, which leads its people with love and gathers them for worship,” Zuma stated. He further noted that monarchies could foster positive relations among nations, uniting their citizens under shared values.
The Prime Minister extended gratitude to His Majesty King Mswati III for promoting national prayer as a tool for spiritual and national development. He commended the King for inspiring chiefdoms and communities to adopt regular worship practices, urging religious leaders to encourage their congregations to embrace this practice.
“This habit of praising God is the only way forward for our nation. It is a unifying force that fosters peace and guides us toward prosperity,” Dlamini said. He underscored the importance of peace as a priceless asset, allowing citizens to thrive without fear of harm or destruction.
The service, held amidst a spirit of reflection and unity, highlighted the role of faith and tradition in shaping Eswatini’s identity. Dlamini encouraged all Emaswati to cherish their peace and stability, emphasizing that these values are fundamental to the country’s continued growth and success.
