MBABANE – Venue confirmed for second edition!
Poetry Has a Heart 2.0 is set to illuminate Molly’s House of Grills with soul-stirring words, compassion, and community spirit on August 2, 2025. What began as a poetic initiative is quickly becoming a movement of healing and hope.
The event, founded by celebrated poet and community advocate FleminQ born Thembumenzi Khulekani Mabuza, returns with a powerful message—art can be a force for good. More than just an open mic or a poetry night, this gathering blends performance and philanthropy, offering an inspiring platform for poets and community members to unite behind a meaningful cause.

“Poetry Has a Heart is back with a bang—it’s the second edition of giving back to the community,” said FleminQ.
In partnership with the BAWSS Foundation, Ikleri Store, SoFresh Hub, and Tala Group, the event is built around both creativity and compassion, ensuring a night filled with brilliant performances and social impact. Entry is E50 or two packs of sanitary pads, a donation that will directly benefit those in need.
Poetry With Purpose
The lineup reads like a who’s who of Southern Africa’s spoken word scene, featuring Ollie De Poet, M Age, Nashisa, Poet Smiso, and FleminQ himself. Each performer brings their unique voice to a shared mission: to uplift, heal, and give back.
At its heart, Poetry Has a Heart is a love letter to the community. “The inspiration behind this event is giving back,” said FleminQ. “As the poetry industry, we’ve received so much support. This is our way of saying thank you.”
Building a Creative Community
FleminQ views poetry not only as performance but as medicine for the soul. “We are healers,” he said. “We were born to bring joy and to inspire through words.”
His long-term vision is to build a space where poets and audiences connect deeply—a place where expression meets empathy, and where the creative flame is reignited across the industry. “We want poets to feel seen, valued, and inspired,” he added.
As August draws closer, anticipation for Poetry Has a Heart 2.0 continues to build. For FleminQ and his collaborators, it’s not just a show—it’s a call to action, and a celebration of the power of words to change lives.
