ROME, ITALY – The current agriculture systems face challenges due to population growth, urbanisation, and changing age distributions, His Majesty has observed.
He said the rising per capita income can introduce nutrition issues, leading to increased demand for processed foods and animal proteins.
He called for healthier diets through education campaigns, economic measures and food environment changes.
“Rapid urbanisation and premature rural-to-urban migration also pose risks, including food insecurity, social instability, infrastructure threats and potential resource shortages,” he said.
