MBABANE – The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) has prohibited the elite players from playing in festive season social tournament.
This was communicated through a statement released by the PLE on Friday. The PLE urged the players to only engage in other forms of fitness and wellness activities to maintain their health and readiness for the second half of the season.
“As we enjoy this break, we remind all Premier League players that while we acknowledge the positive impact of football in our communities, they are prohibited from participating in any social games during this period However, we encourage them to engage in other forms of fitness and wellness activities to manta their health and readiness for the second half of the season,” reads part of the statement.
The PLE then thanked all their stakeholders for the supporter.
“As the PLE takes a short break for the festive season, we would like to extend our heart full wishes to all players, administrators, stakeholders and fans. May this Christmas bring joy, peace and warmth to your families, and we pray for the safety and well-being of everyone during this time. We look forward to welcoming you all back in the new year in good health.
“We sincerely thank all teams and fans for their continued support, good behavior and commitment to the fair play throughout the season. Your dedication to the beautiful game has been truly inspiring and we appreciate your positive contribution to the Premier League,” reads the statement.
The PLE then thanks its sponsors being MTN Eswatini, Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF) and 8bet for their unwavering support of football in the country.
