MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders showcased an impressive performance against Rangers, clinching a commanding 3-0 victory on Wednesday in the MTN Premier League.
The match under week 15 of the league took place at the Mkhuzweni Technical Centre in Buhleni.
The revitalised black-and-white outfit secured their goals through Fabrice Mopina, who converted a penalty five minutes after the interval. The second goal came from Siphamandla Maseko, followed by a third from Majehesibili Ndlovu, who scored ten minutes before the final whistle.
Despite this victory, Highlanders remain in 11th position, sharing the same number of points as Rangers, who occupy 10th place.
This weekend, Highlanders will not be in action as attention shifts to the Ingwenyama Cup quarter-finals, having been eliminated from the tournament in the last 32 stage.
Under the guidance of Coach Thembela Dlamini, assisted by Barnes Mkhulisi, Highlanders introduced six new players, some of whom made their debut during the match. They also welcomed back former players Xolani ‘Chocco’ Sibandze and Xolani ‘Papi’ Sikhondze in technical roles.
