MBABANE – And the cat is out of the bag!
The excitement is building as local talent Sbu the Drum DJ, born Sibusiso Dlamini, has officially announced the line-up and venue for his highly anticipated one-man show set for May 31, 2025.
The event will take place at The Xchange Lounge and Shisanyama, featuring an impressive roster that includes South African music sensation DJ Maphorisa, along with Uncool MC and Masterpiece YVK.
When reached for comment he said, “Join us for the Sbu the Drum DJ One Man Show at The Xchange Lounge & Shisanyama on May 31, featuring DJ Maphorisa, Uncool MC, and Masterpiece YVK. Let’s fill up the venue and make history together!”
DJ Maphorisa, whose real name is Themba Sekowe, is a celebrated record producer known for his unique fusion of house music, Amapiano, and Afro-pop. He has collaborated with top artists, including Wizkid, and is recognized for his pivotal role in popularizing Amapiano music. As a member of the group Uhuru, he gained fame with hits like “Wayitjukutja” and “Khona.” A multiple-award winner, Maphorisa has also worked with various international artists.
Joining him on stage will be Uncool MC, known for his captivating performances in alternative hip-hop, and Masterpiece YVK, born Thabang Kgotso, an Amapiano singer and songwriter.
Notably, DJ Maphorisa was part of last year’s Ocean Summer Vibes show, organized by Sbu the Drum DJ, where he shared the stage with South African stars Kabza De Small, Young Stunna, and local DJ Sbu De Drum DJ.
This upcoming show will mark Sbu the Drum the DJ’s second one-man performance; his first took place during the lockdown in collaboration with Destiny at The Xchange Shisanyama in Manzini.
