MBABANE – Senate President Lindiwe Dlamini has urged EmaSwati to stand united behind the Grand Plan for National Transformation, describing it as a “national mission” that belongs to every citizen.
Speaking with conviction, Dlamini highlighted that the plan can only thrive if it is collectively embraced across all sectors of society.
“The Grand Plan calls for unity of purpose from ministries and agencies, from local governments, civil society, and most importantly, from our citizens. It is a national endeavour that must be owned by all,” she said.
A Vision Rooted in the People
The Grand Plan was first introduced at the Sibaya People’s Parliament in late 2023 by then-parliamentarian Russell Mmiso Dlamini, before his appointment as Prime Minister by His Majesty King Mswati III on 3 November 2023.
Since then, public anticipation has grown, with citizens eager to understand how the plan will shape their lives. While some expressed concerns about inclusivity, government officials have reassured the nation that the framework remains people-centred. Consultations, they said, will ensure that community aspirations are reflected in the final roadmap.
Broad Consultations Underway
The plan has already been widely shared with key stakeholders. On 4 August 2025, it was presented to Members of Parliament at Pigg’s Peak Hotel, followed by engagements with Senators on 6 August. Just two days later, it reached chief executives and senior officials from parastatals, signalling its cross-sector importance.
A Blueprint for National Progress
Senate President Dlamini reaffirmed that the Grand Plan is more than a government strategy, it is a collective vision for Eswatini’s future. Its success, she stressed, depends on unity and active participation from every citizen.
The rollout to the wider public is set to intensify in the coming months, offering all EmaSwati the opportunity to contribute to shaping the country’s journey of transformation.
