MBABANE – The visiting Serbian First Lady Her Excellency (HE) Tamara Vucic has played a vital role in financing the 20 houses that have been built for the elderly people in the country.

This was revealed today (Thursday, July 25, 2024) by Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thulisile Dladla when she spoke about the different projects that Her Majesty the Queen Mother was engaged in. According to Dladla, the bilateral relations between the two countries have benefitted 40 Emaswati, who were able to acquire scholarships to study in that country.

The DPM also mentioned that the First Lady was also in the country, having been sent by Serbia’s President Alexander Vucic to find out other ways of strengthening the bilateral relations the countries are already having. The First Lady has also toured different projects that are overseen by Her Majesty the Indlovukazi.

The relationship between these two countries is more than 30 years old. These countries are part of organisations such as the United Nations (UN) and the Non-Aligned Movement. The First Lady and Her Majesty the Indlovukazi are known as humanitarians who usually take their time to help vulnerable people.

The First Lady is currently in the country on an official visit, having arrived in the country yesterday (Wednesday, July 25, 2024).
