MBABANE– Local Gospel artist Shekinah Motsa, who has just joined the Spirit of Praise volume 10, was featured on TimesLive on Tuesday (9 July 2024).
Motsa shared the article by TimesLive yesterday on her Facebook wall.

The gospel artist shared her inspiration and journey on TimesLive, saying that she started singing in church with her two friends as a trio in 2005. She further explained that it was such a great time, and that’s where she discovered and believed she could hold a note.

In her music career, she has previously mentioned that she encountered setbacks, including the Women in Praise auditions in 2016, which were not successful. She has also tried to take her own life as she felt that she was tired of fighting, hence the Lord intervened.

After she tried to take her life, she wrote a song on her album ‘Ngiphefumlele’ where listeners should expect a message of hope, total surrender, and thanksgiving after God intervened.

Motsa also shared that one of the highlights of her music career was joining Spirit of Praise Volume 10. According to her, she was not expecting it. When she got the call, she did not believe it and sent a huge shout-out to whoever suggested her.

It is worth noting that she has won the Best Gospel Artist Awards in 2020 and 2021 at the Social Media Awards for making an impact on people’s lives.

During the interview with TimesLive, she mentioned that she measures her success by the impact she makes on people’s lives. If she sang and no one got any benefit from it, then she would have wasted her time. According to Wikipedia, TimesLive (also known as TshisaLive) is a South African popular online newspaper, which started as The Times Daily Newspaper.
