MBABANE – The Shiselweni Business Community is working around the clock to ensure a successful King’s Birthday celebration.
His Majesty King Mswati III will this year turn 57 years and his birthday celebration will be held at King Sobhuza II Stadium in Nhlangano. Shiselweni Business Community Chairperson Justice Nxumalo said the business community would continue to work around the clock to make sure that the event was successful.
Nxumalo pointed out that business people in that region were already working 24/7 in preparation for this event. He mentioned that last weekend, they were at King Sobhuza II Stadium, together with leaders of the region, to ascertain the readiness of the venue to host this auspicious event.
The chairman pleaded with his fellow business people to be ready to receive the international community that would be celebrating the King’s birthday. He said businesses would benefit a lot from the event because people would be accessing serving from the Shiselweni businesses.
Nxumalo said as business people, they had been working with Shiselweni Regional Administrator Themba Masuku in preparation for this event. He expressed gratitude to Masuku and thanked His Majesty the King for appointing Masuku as Shiselweni RA.
Nxumalo also expressed gratitude to chiefs of Shiselweni for working with them in preparation for this event. The Shiselweni Business Community is also part of the people who have now convened at Mandvulo, Lozitha Royal Palace to deliver gifts for the 57th birthday celebration of His Majesty the King.
On his personal capacity, Nxumalo praised the wisdom of His Majesty the King, ever since taking over as king in 1986. Nxumalo was fascinated by the fact that every time the king advised, he would tell his people to look up to God, as he knew that wisdom originated with the Almighty.
As a person who has worked closely with the king, he said he could attest to the fact that the Head of State wanted to see the lives of his people develop. Nxumalo said he started addressing the king on October 16, 1987 when the king went to Nhlangano to open a branch of Eswatini Bank.
Nxumalo had been a member of the Land Management Board for 16 years, before he was appointed as a member of the Border Restoration Committee.
He served in the Land Management Board since 2006, until June 10, 2022, when he was appointed by the king to serve in the Border Restoration Committee. In both committees, he was appointed to serve by His Majesty King Mswati III.
