MBABANE – The National Football Senior Men’s team, Sihlangu will start camp in preparations of their
FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers match against Cameroon and Mauritius on March 9, 2025.
This was announced on Wednesday by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) when clarifying that Sihlangu Coaches Zdravko Logarusic and Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane were not at loggerheads as reported by one local media outlet.
EFA Communications and Marketing Officer Muzi Radebe sent a statement denying the reports that there coaches were at loggerheads ahead of the crucial clashes that will be played during the FIFA week billed from March 15, 2025 to end of the month.
Sihlangu will first play Cameroon then Mauritius.
“EFA clarifies about one local media publication titled “ahead of crucial WC qualifier, reports suggest:
Zdravko, Nuro at loga-heads. In as far as EFA is concerned, aware and as expected, the Head Coach, his assistant and his technical team of coaches and officials, there exist a professional relationship, as per the mandate of FIFA to the national team,” reads the statement.
Radebe added that currently, preparations for the successful hosting of the forthcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers against Cameroon and Mauritius have commenced smoothly with administrative process between FIFA, CAF, and all pertinent stakeholders ongoing culminating the training and camp for the team planned for the March 9, 2025.
Eswatini lies at the bottom of Group D ahead of the matches. They are without a point after four matches while Cameroon is top of the six teams table with eight points while Libya is second with seven points alongside Cape Verde Island who are third. Fourth is Angola with six points, Mauritius fifth with four then Eswatini sixth.
