SITEKI – The Siteki Town Council invites all stakeholders to participate in the consultation meeting for Siteki Town, as part of the ongoing review of the Rating Act, 1995. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Siteki Town Hall behind the municipal offices, starting at 10:00 am.
This meeting is part of a nationwide consultation process launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development in February 2025 to engage various stakeholders in developing a modern and equitable property rating system for Eswatini. Similar consultations are taking place in other towns such as Manzini, Mbabane, Mankayane, Ezulwini, Matsapha, Nhlangano, and more.
The Ministry emphasized that reviewing the Rating Act is crucial for establishing a fair and efficient property taxation framework that supports sustainable urban growth and enhances municipal service delivery. The current Act, effective since 1995, is being updated to reflect current urban challenges and community needs.
All residents of Siteki, including property owners, ratepayers, municipal officials, and other interested parties, are strongly encouraged to participate and share their views during the meeting.
“The Ministry is dedicated to a transparent and inclusive review process. We value the input of local stakeholders in shaping a property rating system that is fair and meets community needs,”.
Details on consultations in other towns continue to be shared via respective local authorities.
