MBABANE – The highly anticipated Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2026 qualifiers will see Eswatini’s national women’s football team, Sitsebe Samhlekazi, take on Namibia at Somhlolo National Stadium on February 21, 2025.

The match will kick off at 3:00 PM, and fans will have the opportunity to support their team free of charge. Despite ongoing renovations at Somhlolo National Stadium, an exemption has been granted to allow the venue to host this crucial encounter. The renovations are expected to be completed next month.

The second leg of the fixture is scheduled for February 26, 2025, at Dobsonville Stadium in South Africa, where Namibia will play as the designated home team. The winner of the two-legged tie will advance to the second round of qualifiers in late October, facing Zambia for a place in the 2026 WAFCON tournament in Morocco.

Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Communications and Marketing Manager, Muzi Radebe, confirmed the fixture, noting that Sitsebe has been in training camp for the past week in preparation for the matches.

Due to past restrictions, Eswatini had not been able to host category A matches sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA. However, this time, the women’s qualifiers have been granted a special exemption.

Meanwhile, Namibia opted to hold their home leg in South Africa due to logistical challenges.

Sitsebe’s 23-member squad is currently in camp at the Lobamba Technical Centre, under the guidance of Coach Bongani Makhukhula from Manzini Wanderers Ladies Football Club, as they prepare for this crucial qualifier.
