MBABANE– MTN Firefly 2024 finalist Stella Jacobs will drop her latest single, titled ‘Together’ tomorrow (7 February 2025).
The tune promises to be a heartfelt ode to love, blending the rich cultural sounds of Swati music with Lesotho beats.
She is known for her soulful voice and captivating lyrics, has collaborated with South African producer Mike Vergasin on this project. She commented, “This is a Swati song infused with elements of Lesotho beats. It’s a love song that narrates the beautiful story of how a couple met and the promises they make to each other.”
Jacobs describes the collaboration as exceptionally, it came about through social media. “I always wished to work on a Sotho beat, but here in Eswatini, most producers don’t incorporate those elements. Luckily, Mike approached me on TikTok, and we hit it off as friends. We’ve worked on different projects together, and we decided to release this one for the month of love,” Stella Jacobs shared.
The narrative of ‘Together’ focuses on the emotional journey of a couple deeply in love. “The guy promises to marry the girl, and she expresses her willingness to wait for him so they can stay together. The song emphasizes the healthiness of their relationship, highlighting how they listen to each other when solving problems,” Jacobs explained.
The song is a fusion of trap and Afro-pop, showcasing her s versatility as an artist. According to the talented songstress they recorded this song twice because we weren’t satisfied with the first take. There’s something unique about this track, especially with the use of SiSwati over a Sotho beat. It’s a creative blend that I believe will resonate with many listeners,” she added.
