MALKERNS – Music and fashion!
MTN Bushfire Firefly Finalist 2024 Stella Jacobs, a talented musician from Eswatini, is set to perform at the second edition of the Runway Revolution Fashion Show on March 29, 2025.
This event, spearheaded by local model Nompumelelo ‘Lelo’ Matsebula, promises to be bigger, bolder, and more innovative than its predecessor, which took place on April 6, 2024.
The inaugural fashion show was a resounding success, receiving an enthusiastic response from attendees and participants. Matsebula expressed her excitement about the upcoming show, stating, “The first edition exceeded our expectations in respect of the response from the people who attended. The second edition is anticipated with excitement from everyone.”
One of the most significant changes for this year’s event includes:
– Wider Array of Designers: The show will feature a more diverse collection of garments from various designers.
– Elaborate Production: Matsebula promises a fresh and unique vibe, with lessons learned from the first show to enhance the overall experience.
“It’s about creating a space where new ideas can flourish and where we can redefine what fashion means in our context,” Matsebula emphasized.
The Runway Revolution Fashion Show aims to:
– Spotlight Emerging Talents: It provides a platform for emerging designers and models to showcase their creativity.
– Encourage Participation: There is no registration fee for designers and models; only a portfolio presentation is required.
Matsebula stated, “All are welcome, and we look forward to guests displaying their own fashion sense.”
The Runway Revolution aims to signify a transformative shift within the fashion industry, reflecting innovative and groundbreaking designs that challenge traditional norms. This event is not just a fashion show; it’s a celebration of creativity and participation in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
