MBABANE – Tennis clubs’ representatives and players, affiliated with the Eswatini National Tennis Association (ENTA), were gathered to discuss strategies to improve the sport during the Tennis Indaba that was held at the Esibayeni Lodge on Wednesday (July 31, 2024).
The event, chaired by seasoned player Allen Mathonsi, was aimed to foster a dialogue and development policies among all stakeholders in tennis.
During the Tennis Indaba, a task team led by Sibusiso Nxumalo was elected to oversee the key discussion points and arrange a meeting with ENTA to address pressing issues. “Our goal is to find ways to engage with the ENTA and resolve the challenges affecting the tennis community,” Nxumalo stated.
The urgency of this meeting stems from the cancellation of the ENTA Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June 1, 2024. The AGM which was intended to elect a new executive and amend the association’s constitution, was postponed indefinitely. In the absence of an elected executive, a temporary task team was formed to manage the association’s events, with the outgoing executive given an interim period of six months.

While former Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) President Herman Jele and Nqaba Mkhaliphi were the contenders for the Vice President position.
Th open forum saw the attendance of notable figures in the tennis community, including Allan Mathonsi, Bruce Gama, Curtis Mamba and many more.
