MBABANE – MTN Premier League defending champions Mbabane Swallows is ready to resume action  when they face rivals, Nsingizini Hotspurs on Sunday at Mavuso Sports Centre, kick-off 4pm.

Mbabane Swallows were out of action last weekend when they were due to face Royal Leopard due to an impasse in the club. Physical trainer Siza Dlamini who represented Coach Caleb Ngwenya during a press conference ahead of the match said the reports that the team was not training were not true.

Dlamini clarified that the team has been training despite the absence from their usual location; All Nations Sports Ground.

He said they were using lot of training venues other than the All Nations Sports Ground for their training sessions. He invited fans to come in their numbers to support the team and they will be ready for positive results.

“On Sunday the team will be ready to play and Coach Caleb Ngwenya is available. It is just that he had other engagement when this press conference was called,” he said.

There were reports that the coach quits due to the impasse as there was power struggle in the team with the old MC resigning, giving the team to a delegation from Princess Lungile. After both parties met with the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) it was resolved that the old MC led by Welile Mabuza continues to run the club.

Swallows will go to the game placed second, behind Green Mamba in the log while Nsingizini Hotspurs is fourth. Nsingizini Hotspurs are from a 0-2 defeat by Green Mamba.

Alexio Sigion acknowledged the significance of the match, describing it as one of the biggest in the country. He mentioned that both teams are fighting for championship positions and stressed the need for high performance.

The last encounter between the two teams ended in a 1-1 draw, but was overshadowed by incidents of violence. This adds an extra layer of intensity to their upcoming match.

“It won’t be an easy game. Mbabane Swallows and the defending champions of the league and we are also fighting for the championships. It won’t be an easy game but we are going to give our best and we are not going to consider that they from some impasse. They have said it themselves that they have been training, so you cannot take anything for granted, “he said.

It would be E50 to watch the clash as it is a double header that will also feature Moneni Pirates and Sisonkhe earlier with a kick-off at 1:30pm.
