MBABANE – Philani Maswati Charity’s annual crossover event continues to gain momentum with Taste of Africa stepping forward to contribute a generous sponsorship of E15,000 aimed at supporting the elderly.
The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Mbabane East Inkhundla Center, where Taste of Africa’s Director, Nelson Matsebula, highlighted the company’s commitment to giving back to the community. Matsebula described the sponsorship as a reflection of their gratitude towards the nation and their dedication to uplifting vulnerable groups.
“This sponsorship is a reflection of our gratitude to the nation for the love and support shown towards our brand,” said Matsebula. *”We believe in the power of collective action to uplift those in need, and this event provides the perfect opportunity to make a difference, especially for the elderly.” * This contribution follows closely on the heels of EBet Eswatini’s E18,000 sponsorship announced just a day earlier. Both sponsors underscore a growing support network for the Philani Maswati Charity Organization as it prepares for its flagship event.
Philani Maswati Chairperson Lutfo Dlamini expressed deep appreciation for the sponsorship, calling it a vital boost to the organization’s efforts.
“We thank Taste of Africa for standing with us even during tough times,” Dlamini said. “With their support, we are able to bring hope and dignity to our elderly citizens, which is at the heart of our mission.”
The highly anticipated Mbabane Crossover Event is scheduled for December 31 at the Prince of Wales Sports Grounds. The event promises a vibrant mix of entertainment and social responsibility. Daytime activities will include a fitness session led by renowned South African trainer Nkhululeko Dlamini, sponsored by Shukuma Swaziland. The evening lineup will feature performances by celebrated artists such as Sipho Makhabane, Mduduzi Ncube, and Shiba and the Travellers.
Mbabane East Indvuna Yenkhundla, Phindile Maziya, commended Taste of Africa for their contribution, describing it as a testament to the company’s dedication to the welfare of emaSwati.
“This support demonstrates that Taste of Africa truly cares about the people,” Maziya said. “Such initiatives provide hope to our elderly, ensuring they feel valued and remembered as we close one year and welcome another.”
The Philani Maswati Charity Organization has been working closely with local communities in preparation for the event. Recently, the organization engaged vendors at Msunduza Main Market, encouraging them to book stalls and participate in the day’s activities.
Dlamini also extended heartfelt gratitude to Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Indlovukazi, for her unwavering support and inspiration, which continue to drive the organization’s mission forward.
With significant contributions from Taste of Africa, EBet Eswatini, Shukuma Swaziland, and others, the Mbabane Crossover Event is set to be a remarkable blend of celebration and community care. Tickets for the event are priced at E100, with proceeds dedicated to benefiting Mbabane’s elderly population.
