PIGG’S PEAK – “This hub belongs to the youth, to women, to communities that have long stood at the edge of opportunity,” declared SEDCO CEO Khethiwe Mhlanga, as the E2.2 million Pigg’s Peak iHub was officially launched on Thursday morning.
The state-of-the-art innovation and incubation centre is the latest addition to Eswatini’s digital entrepreneurship drive and will serve the communities of Pigg’s Peak, Ndzingeni and Ntfonjeni.

Equipped with high-speed internet, cutting-edge tech infrastructure, and training opportunities, the hub is designed to unlock new pathways for Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs), especially young entrepreneurs and people living with disabilities.
Mhlanga said the initiative is more than infrastructure, it is a commitment to building a future where local innovators are empowered. “We built it to bridge the digital gap and fuel dreams that can become sustainable businesses,” she said.

With backing from Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the centre offers fertile ground for e-commerce, remote work, digital learning and inclusive community development.
Minister of ICT Savannah Maziya, who officiated the launch alongside the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo, applauded the milestone, describing it as a bold step towards inclusive digital transformation.
The project reflects His Majesty King Mswati III’s vision to replicate iHub models across all Tinkhundla. And if the energy in Pigg’s Peak is anything to go by, the journey has only just begun.
