MBABANE – The Under-20 national soccer team, Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) and National First Dvision (NFD) soccer teams will benefit from the Tinkhundla National Talent Search Competition.

This was said by Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu.

This was during the Tinkhundla National Talent Search Competition launch that was held at the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs conference room in Mbabane today (Friday, July 12, 2024).

The EFA CEO highlighted that this competition would help the national team’s coaches to identify players that should be selected to represent the country.

“One important highlight that one may want to articulate is that this talent search programme that has been created will help our national teams to identify players that should play for the national team,” Mngomezulu said.

Mngomezulu also highlighted that Premier League and National First Division football clubs will also benefit from this programme. “We are praying and hopeful that this is going to be a common feature every year during the off-season period so that each and every year, we could help even our Premier League and NFD clubs to identify player to feature for their respective clubs.” he highlighted.

He also added that, “Premier League and NFD player will not participate because they are already at a level where we are saying they are at a professional level. It will only be players doing their duties at regional level, which will truly substantiate that it is a national talent search. So, we are trying to help them (clubs) to identify talent to actually refine into their squads.” he added.
