LOBAMBA – His Majesty King Mswati III has received Umhlanga donations (Tetfulo) valued at E18 009 517, a powerful demonstration of unity, generosity, and commitment to one of Eswatini’s most cherished cultural traditions.

The contributions included E2 487 200 in cash, cattle worth E1 820 000, and groceries valued at E13 694 017. These donations will go a long way in supporting the successful hosting of thousands of maidens who gathered at Ludzidzini Royal Residence for the Umhlanga Reed Dance Ceremony.

Addressing attendees at the Tetfulo ceremony, the King warmly acknowledged all contributors, expressing gratitude for their love and commitment towards sustaining the cultural event.
“When God sees that you are gathered in good faith, not on evil plans, He stretches His hand and blesses that gathering,” His Majesty said.

He further emphasized that the Umhlanga Reed Dance is a grand event, requiring consistent support to ensure that maidens are well cared for during the celebration.

The donations reflect the spirit of Ubuntu, where individuals, communities, and organizations come together to uphold cultural heritage while showing unwavering support for Their Majesties.
