Imagine running into Uncle Waffles in a grocery shop filming her dance video! Uncle Waffles yesterday posted a dance video which was shot in South Africa with young dancers promoting her upcoming show in New York City. She wrote,” New York City, this is Amapiano future!!! We are a month away baby. Grab your tickets. It’s going to be tew good again…”
She also thanked all the dancers in her video. She wrote,”Thank you to every single dancer. I love y”ll so much”
The globe-trotting DJ is currently on world tour dubbed, ‘Uncle Waffles Less Talk, More Piano.’
The world tour kicked off in Paris last month and it will wrap up in Asia on November 29. Some of the places she will be touring include a few countries in Europe, Australia, North America, Asia, and Africa.
Born Lungelihle Zwane (24) in Manzini, Eswatini, the global DJ boasts off of 2.6 million followers on Instagram. She is also a record producer now based in South Africa.
In May, she announced another milestone in her career as the first Amapiano act to perform at The Brooklyn Mirage in New York in the United States of America (USA). She will perform on August 18.
Early this year, she sold out her London, United Kingdom show dubbed We Love Waffles London, which was held on January 20. In February, Uncle Waffles got the nod for her electrical performance from USA artist Kelly Rowland, who came up to her to give her a warm hug in appreciation of her set at the United Masters Grammy Weekend Concert. Uncle Waffles, alongside Davido and Tokischa, were the headliners of the show. The concert was held at the Hollywood Palladium.
According to one of her pages, Waffles has been recognised by Rolling Stones, Forbes, CNN Variety, The New York Times, and Complex UK for her insane accomplishments throughout 2023, spanning from Solace and Asylum Extended Playlist EP releases, Coachella performances, and sold-out shows in New York.
She is noted for her work in the Amapiano genre and dance abilities, with Billboard describing her as the Princess of Amapiano. Waffles debut single, titled Tanzania, reached number one and went platinum in South Africa. She has gained the attention of some of the world’s biggest names, including Canadian rapper Drake. The world got to know about DJ after Drake shared a photo of her and sent a shout-out to her. He did that twice. He first joined her on Instagram Live and called her a top DJ. Waffles tweeted that she was super excited and screamed for a good 10 minutes.
