Uncle Waffles shuts down Coachella Festival 2025!
Fresh from headlining the prestigious REVOLVE Festival alongside global superstars Lil Wayne, Tyga, and Cardi B, Eswatini’s star Uncle Waffles made her second appearance at the globally acclaimed Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2025, held yesterday, April 13, 2025, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, United States.
The Eswatini-born superstar made her surprise performance at the Do Lab Stage at 5 PM. This marked her second time performing at the world-renowned festival, having also graced the stage in 2023.
This year’s Coachella Festival is divided into two weekends: it began on April 11-13 and will continue with the second leg from April 18-20, 2025.
The Coachella Festival is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, in the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. It was co-founded by Paul Tollet and Rick Van Santen in 1999 and is organized by Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of AEG Presents. The festival attracts at least 250,000 attendees. In 2017, it was extended to two weekends.
Uncle Waffles, whose real name is Lungelihle Zwane (25), took to social media to share her excitement about performing at one of the most anticipated festivals of the year.
In January 2025, she was revealed as the second most popular female artist in South Africa on Audiomack. In May, she is set to headline her second We Love Waffles Tour in the United Kingdom, with shows in London and Birmingham. Her first tour was held in January of the previous year.
In December 2024, she released her new album titled 4 Da Ho’s. Known for her collaborations, Uncle Waffles often blends her distinct style with the unique sounds of her peers. The final song, ‘Zenzele,’ reunites Uncool MC, Royal Musiq, and Cow Boi, while introducing Xouppy, ensuring that the EP culminates in an explosive finish.
Dubbed the ‘Princess of Amapiano’ by Billboard, she captivates audiences with her distinctive sound, mesmerizing dance moves, and vibrant personality. Her debut single, ‘Tanzania,’ has been a phenomenal success, topping charts in South Africa and achieving an impressive 7x platinum certification*l. The track, infused with vibrant rhythms and catchy melodies, showcases her exceptional talent and has become a staple at parties and festivals across the continent.
