Despite her meteoric rise to stardom, Lungelihle Zwane, better known as Uncle Waffles, has remained grounded, taking a moment to thank her fans for their unwavering support throughout 2024. The 24-year-old DJ and performer shared an appreciation post on her Instagram Channel two days ago, saying:
“Happy New Year, my baes! I love you all sooo much. You have made the past year such an experience for me. Meeting all of you around the world, seeing you dance to my music, and us sharing so many amazing moments has been unforgettable. I couldn’t ask for more. Thank you so much, and I’m so excited for this year. I have so much to share with you, and I can’t wait for us to make more memories together.”
Uncle Waffles’ achievements in 2024 were remarkable, cementing her place as a global superstar. Her work was recognized on Audiomack, where she ranked as the second most streamed female artist in South Africa. She also delighted fans by releasing the visuals for her new track, Baphi, on YouTube last week, following the launch of her latest extended play (EP), which features three tracks that blend Amapiano and Afrobeats.

The Eswatini-born artist continued to make headlines with her collaborations and high-profile appearances. In November, she presented an award alongside the Prince of Wales at the prestigious Earthshot Prize Awards in Cape Town. Shortly after, she teamed up with renowned rapper and Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Creative Director, Pharrell Williams, for an iconic photo shoot in Paris.

Earlier in December, Uncle Waffles released her new album, 4 Da Ho’s, which was met with critical acclaim. The album came during her highly successful world tour, which began in June and took her across continents.
