MBABANE – After Manzini Wanderers went to court over their relegation battle, kick-off of the MTN Premier League will be delayed.
The 2024/ 25 season was due to kick-off this weekend (August 16-18, 2024) but it has since been postponed, pending the Manzini Wanderers case to be heard before court now after their appeal was dismissed by the appeals board.
Wanderers are challenging relegations from the elite league to the MTN National First Division after they lodged a protest against Denver Sundowns defender Jimmoh Moses but the Disciplinary Committee (DC) found Sundowns not guilty over the matter and the appeals board also dismissed their appeal.
The matter is set to be heard before court and the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) did not announce Manzini Wanderers as relegated due to the pending matter on Saturday during the General Assembly (AGM) held at Sigwaca House.
Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pat Vilakati confirmed that they had to postpone the kick-off the league due to the pending matter.

Making his remarks during the Sports Show at Eswatini Information and Broadcasting Services (EBIS), Vilakati said they will have to wait for the matter to be concluded before they released the fixtures and the kick-off dates.
He said the matter had also delayed them in releasing their season calendar.
