MBABANE – “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
Talking about faith and God’s timing speaks best of Mkhuleko Mangwe‘s story, also known as Sancheziey Ariel. He was crowned the overall winner of the Epic Gig Freshman, who will get an opportunity to feature South Africa’s Aubrey Qwana for his new song.
When reached for comment, the artist shared that he is grateful to Toxik Entertainment Director Tammy Toxik Dlamini, for the vision. He said, “Everyone who got to the top five of the competition, , needed the win; fortunately, I won. When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen. Considering my consistency and moves in the industry since 2018, when I ventured into hip-hop solo, it was about time I got there. Beautiful experience, tough competition considering that at 6 p.m. on the last day of voting, I was number five, but when the last minute hit, I was number one.”
After his performance at the Epic Gig over the weekend, he introduced himself to Aubrey Qwana as the Freshmen who will collaborate with him. He said, “Oh, hey, I’m looking forward to it, and I can’t wait. “Qwana offered him a drink, but unfortunately he turned it down because he doesn’t drink. The SA artist said, “Really, you don’t drink. That’s nice.” That’s when the ice cracked. They talked about song creation and the best way to come up with a hit to take over the industry.
According to Sancheziey, Qwana is a nice guy who has a good heart. “We agreed that we would record it together in his studio in SA, and as far as the concept of the song, we would create it there together. Definitely, it will be an Afro-Pop Jam, and I’m excited about it. We will update the public on when I’ll be leaving for the studio session, and with Toxik Entertainment’s assistance, I believe this is going to be history.”
The hip-hop artist revealed that the Freshmen Stage was no joke. He said, “Winning it is hard, even dealing with the team and each other in the cause of promotions, activations, and even on the event day. We all treated the same in the sense that if you are not sure why you are there, you can give up honestly.”
When asked how his performance at the recent Epic Gig was, he said, “My structure of a performance revolved around something smooth, professional, and kind of steady, as I knew few would be there when my time hit.” I might have wished for later hours, but what was given to me was something I had to embrace and learn from. But all in all, I did my best for the night, and I’m looking forward to bigger events.”
