MBABANE – Gospel artist Wyclef Sim, born Wycliff Simelane, is set to release his highly anticipated debut single Yokhela Mlilo on Friday, January 31, 2025. The track is part of his upcoming album, The Response: Volume 1, recorded last May at the Metropolitan Church in Manzini in front of over a thousand worshippers.
The event showcased a collection of freshly composed gospel songs, leaving attendees yearning for more. Wyclef reflected on the journey leading to his debut, stating, “This project has been a dream for years. When the time came to do it, I knew it had to be one of the best ever produced, and I believe we’ve achieved that.”
Yokhela Mlilo, chosen as the lead single from the album, has already gained popularity in local churches, sung widely even before its official release. Wyclef described it as a sing-along anthem with a simple yet impactful arrangement, designed to resonate with the gospel music fraternity.
The single will be available on all digital platforms for streaming and download starting Friday.
Wyclef expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support he has received throughout his journey. “I’m standing on the shoulders of many who have supported me. This is just the beginning, and I appeal for continued help, especially in sharing our content on social media to reach a wider audience.”
