MBABANE – Emaswati who once participated in the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) will get an opportunity to showcase their achievement while they were in the YALI programme.
The achievements will be showcased by these Emaswati, who are now referred to as the YALI Alumni, during an exhibition that will be held by YALI – Eswatini Chapter on November 2, 2024. According to YALI-Eswatini Communications Networking and Events Coordinator Sandile Nxumalo, the exhibition will showcase the achievements and contributions of the YALI alumni of Eswatini, highlighting the positive impact they have made in their communities.
Nxumalo said the event would take place from 8am to 3pm at Mbabane Mall. He said prior to the November 2 event, there would be site visits to the places where the YALI Alumni had made a positive impact. According to Nxumalo, the site visits would start from October 28, 2024 and the visits would also feature YALI members from Midrand in South Africa.
“We are excited to announce that we will have guests from the YALI Regional Leadership Centre in Midrand, Pretoria, joining us for this event. Their participation will provide a unique opportunity for networking and collaboration among young leaders from various backgrounds,” Nxumalo said.
The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) is a transformative program initiated by the United States government to support and empower young leaders across Africa. YALI focuses on developing leadership skills, promoting civic engagement, and fostering innovation among youth. The initiative has had a significant impact on young leaders in the region and throughout Africa, equipping them with the necessary tools to address community challenges and drive sustainable development.
