MANZINI- Andile Simelane brings DJ Tira’s electrifying energy to life through art.

At just 19 years old, Andile Samkelo Simelane is quickly becoming one of Eswatini’s standout young artists. His passion and talent took center stage at the Eswatini Biggest Braai 2025, where he presented a powerful portrait of DJ Tira during the superstar’s live performance.

Though the artwork was created at home, Andile meticulously worked for hours to ensure it captured DJ Tira’s signature style and unmatched energy. “I’m inspired by DJ Tira’s energy and passion,” Andile shared. “I wanted to capture the moment and his iconic style. It took me a few hours to complete the piece, but it was worth it to get the details just right.”

Presenting the piece live at such a high-profile event came with pressure, but it also brought unforgettable rewards. “There was a bit of pressure knowing many people would see the piece, but it pushed me to do my best and make it something special,” he said.

The crowd responded with excitement as DJ Tira accepted the portrait, and the moment was a highlight of the night. “DJ Tira was thrilled with the drawing, and the crowd’s reaction was amazing, they loved seeing the artwork come to life,” said Simelane. “It was a fantastic experience, and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity.”

A self-taught artist who began drawing at a young age, Simelane uses his art to express himself and connect with others. Over the years, he has committed to growing his skills and now aims to pursue art professionally.

One of his most memorable moments so far was drawing DJ Maphorisa during a performance at The Exchange Lounge, another opportunity where his work resonated with a live audience.

“I enjoy drawing live performances, there’s something about capturing the energy of the moment that I find really exciting,” he said. “This was a unique experience, but definitely one I’ll look to repeat.”

With passion in his heart and a pencil in hand, Simelane is carving a path for young creatives in Eswatini, one portrait at a time.
