MBABANE- Eswatini’s Young Kidd Sparrow ends a 5-year silence with a heartfelt hit produced by Mr Kangaroo.
After five years away from the music scene, Young Kidd Sparrow, real name Sandile Dlamini, is back, and he’s returned with flames. The 22-year-old Afro-pop singer from the outskirts of Mbabane has officially re-entered the spotlight with a soul-stirring single titled “Ngize Ngam’thola”, which dropped on 17 July 2025 and is already dominating airwaves, especially on EBIS radio, where it has been on heavy rotation since its release.
Kidd Sparrow’s hiatus wasn’t easy. After releasing his last song in 2020, he stepped back from music due to personal life challenges he chooses not to disclose. Yet during this break, he was quietly observing, learning, and strategising.
“After five years of not releasing music, the pressure from my fans was intense,” he shared. “But it also gave me time to understand what I was missing, quality production. That’s when I decided to work with Mr Kangaroo.”
Mr Kangaroo, a name currently buzzing in the Eswatini music scene for producing viral hits like “Badede” by Thaifo Son and “Emhlaleni” by Lastborn Heart Romancer, was Kidd Sparrow’s go-to for his comeback.
“Ngize Ngam’thola” isn’t just another Afro-pop track, it’s a deeply personal piece of music inspired by Kidd Sparrow’s real-life struggles. Written in June 2023, the song reflects a time when he hit rock bottom, losing his job, his family, friends, and direction in life.

But through it all, there was one person who never left his side, his partner.
“She stood by me through the darkest times. Her love gave me a reason to be strong and positive again,” Kidd Sparrow revealed. “I knew this was the song to return with because it’s real, it’s my story.”
The track was recorded at SSR Studios, with Mr Kangaroo not only lending his production talent but also his humanity.
“He’s not just a producer; he really cared about my story. He helped make sure the song became a hit,” said Kidd Sparrow.
When the song first aired on EBIS the same day it dropped, Sparrow couldn’t believe his ears.
“I was shocked to hear myself on radio again. That moment gave me hope, that maybe, just maybe, this journey will finally make sense.”
Now available on all digital platforms, “Ngize Ngam’thola” is just the beginning of what Kidd Sparrow promises will be a consistent return.
“I’m not stepping back anymore. No matter how hard it gets, I’ll stay strong, stay positive, and keep giving my fans music that carries meaning.”
Kidd Sparrow invites all his supporters to like, share, subscribe, and continue showing love as he rebuilds his path in music, one heartfelt song at a time.
