MBABANE – Your voice can make you earn a decent income by being a voice over (VO) artist.

This was said by Sanele Lushaba, a well paid VO artist in the country.

Lushaba is a 36 year old man from Nhlangano, Mazombizwe under Maseyisini Inkhundla. He is former Limkokwing University of Creative Technology student. He started VO in 2013, while he was on an internship at Lusweti Youth Empowerment Organisation , doing graphic design internship.

“I was spotted by a sound engineer from Australia Myles Mumford, after he heard my submission during a meeting. After that meeting he came to me and ask if I had ever been on radio or did adverts as my voice was good for radio. After then he gave me a script from MTN to see if I could master it with my voice and yes since then I never looked back” he said.

Lushaba have been the voice on most radio adverts for over a decade now. His voice carries so much command that makes listeners to always pay attention to anything he is saying. That is why most companies hired him during the Covid-19 times to raise an awareness about the virus.

His voice has put him on the map to be recognised not only by Eswatini but by companies outside the country mostly in South Africa he has been offered many opportunities that gave him big bucks.

His voice has obtained him so much recognition and experience to the point where he has now established his own company, Middlemen Investments, which produces Television and Radio adverts.
He continued saying that he believes he is a radio person by birth as he grew up imitating radio personalities like the late Masumasu Fakudze, “Sgayoyo Magongo and Percy Simelane.

He emphasised that, as he’s from Shiselweni region close to the border line, he grew up listening to Ukhozi FM, ultimately becoming his favourite radio station.

Lushaba has worked as a voice over for companies like World Vision Eswatini, Eswatini Post and Telecommunications Corporation (EPTC), Eswatini Higher Education Council (ESHEC) and many more.

He hopes that his passion for being a VO must inspire some young Emaswati with an excellent voice for radio, they must not wait to be called for job interviews as unemployment rate is high but they must use their voices and be paid.

Lushaba then urged potential clients to contact him on his social media handles :
