MBABANE – In a proud moment for Eswatini’s legal profession, Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala has officially admitted 10 new conveyancers, marking a major milestone in the growth of the country’s legal and property framework.
The admission ceremony, held at the High Court of Eswatini, signified not just the culmination of rigorous legal training but also a vital step toward enhancing the nation’s conveyancing capacity. Conveyancing—the legal process of transferring property ownership—ensures that real estate transactions are lawful, transparent, and secure.
Speaking during the ceremony, Chief Justice Maphalala congratulated the new professionals and emphasized the importance of integrity and diligence in their role. “Conveyancers are central to the smooth functioning of the property market and to upholding public trust in land transactions,” he said.
Conveyancers are tasked with key responsibilities, including:
- Conducting property searches to uncover any encumbrances or legal issues;
- Preparing and lodging legal documents with precision;
- Facilitating the seamless transfer of property ownership; and
- Protecting clients against fraud or potential legal disputes.
Their role is increasingly important as Eswatini continues to promote property investment, development, and economic growth. By ensuring that all property transactions meet legal standards, conveyancers help foster a secure environment for buyers, sellers, and investors alike.
The newly admitted conveyancers join a critical arm of the legal profession that directly supports the country’s vision of a robust, transparent, and efficient property sector.
This milestone not only strengthens the legal landscape but also enhances public confidence in the systems that underpin land ownership and development in Eswatini.
