MBABANE- Lobamba police are investigating a series of sexual offence cases involving minors that were reported in the Ebuka area on December 28, 2025.
According to police reports, a 17-year-old teenager from Ebuka has been identified as a suspect in connection with three rape cases and one attempted rape. The suspect was allegedly pointed out by the young victims during preliminary investigations.
Police indicated that the incidents are believed to have occurred within a short space of time during the early evening hours. The alleged offences reportedly involved children aged between six and ten years who reside in the same rental compound, while the suspect stays in a neighbouring homestead.
The matter came to light after one of the victims, a 10-year-old boy, complained of pain and discomfort to his mother. Upon further inquiry, the child disclosed what had allegedly occurred, prompting the parent to immediately report the matter to the police.
Law enforcement officers responded swiftly and launched a comprehensive investigation, following established procedures for handling cases involving minors. The children have since been referred for medical examination and psychosocial support, while investigations continue.
Police have condemned the alleged acts and reiterated their commitment to ensuring that justice is served. They stressed that cases involving children are treated with the utmost seriousness and sensitivity.
Authorities have also called on communities to remain vigilant and to work closely with law enforcement agencies to safeguard children. Parents and guardians were urged to closely monitor children, particularly during the festive season when movement within communities increases.
Police further appealed to anyone who may have information relevant to the case to come forward and assist with investigations, assuring the public that all information will be treated with strict confidentiality.
The police said protecting children remains a priority and emphasised that perpetrators of crimes against minors will be pursued in accordance with the law.
