He received an Associate Degree in Business Management at the institution. He reached out to us to share his inspirational story of how he overcame challenges and highs in his journey to make his family proud. This is what he had to say:
TELL US WHY YOU PICKED BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
I studied business management because of its career opportunities, as it provides a broad understanding of various business functions, opening doors to diverse career paths and leadership skills in which it helps develop essential leadership and management skills, preparing individuals for roles that require team management and decision-making.
On top of that, business management enhances entrepreneurship; hence, I choose it to gain the knowledge needed to start and manage their own businesses effectively.
It also helps in networking and problem-solving, thus enhancing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, crucial for navigating complex business challenges.
HOW WAS THE JOURNEY WHILE PURSUING YOUR DEGREE?
Studying business management took me three full years of commitment and patience. This long journey was not easy, taking it from choosing the program. I had to start by researching various programs, considering factors like curriculum, faculty, and career support. Straight to varsity settling and struggling, the challenges, hardships, trials, and tribulations, but it was a matter of staying focused and patient in order for a successful completion of the program of study.
HOW DOES YOUR FAMILY FEEL ABOUT YOUR MILESTONE?
After being the first graduate in my family, my siblings and both parents are very proud, and experiencing the graduation event at Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre, you can tell they feel it could be an everyday thing.
WHAT’S NEXT NOW THAT YOU HAVE GRADUATED?
I’m looking to begin my career by securing an entry-level position in my chosen field, such as marketing, finance, or human resources. Then gain experience by building practical experience through internships or entry-level jobs is a priority for many, as it helps develop skills and professional networks.
Afterwards, I’ll consider pursuing advanced degrees, like an MBA, to enhance my qualifications and career prospects.
WHAT POSITIONS WILL BE IDEAL FOR YOU?
Basically, that will depend on vacancies. Otherwise, I can be a management trainee, Marketing Coordinator, Financial Analyst, Human Resource Manager, Sales representative, Production Manager, Business Analyst, Entrepreneur, Project Coordinator, and many more.
