MBABANE – There are about 14 companies that made it possible for the swimming squad to attend the XX Africa Aquatics Zone IV Swimming and Open Water Championships in Windhoek, Namibia.
The team has already safely arrived in Windhoek, and the competitions were due to start today (Wednesday). The companies are VIVA Beverages, Kobla Quashie & Associates, Ngwenya Glass, The, White Orchard, Mabhuda Farm, Swazi Candles, SPAR, Slimm Clinique, Justine Hamper by Sedatia Tsabedze, Moetse Couriers, Go Raw, Beef Boys, Global Signs, JC Decaux and Parents & Guardians among others.
Also assisting the Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) was the sports mother body, Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council (ESRC).
The companies assisted the team with travelling costs, especially air tickets from Johannesburg to Windhoek, accommodation, uniform and meals among other things.
“The Eswatini Swimming Association has sent a team of 18 Swimmers who will be representing the Kingdom at the XX Africa Aquatics Zone IV Swimming & Open Water Championships in Windhoek Namibia. The Championships will run from December 4-8, 2024, with Hayley Hoy and Simphiwe Dlamini leading the National Team as Captains. Good Luck Team Eswatini,” reads a statement from ESRC.
First to expected to compete is the duo of Hayley Hoy and Simanga Dlamini in the 800m freestyle for over 15 years old.
