MBABANE – The Ingwenyama Cup will be vibrant throughout the country as the Women’s Ingwenyama Cup quarter-finals unfold alongside the men’s last eight matches.
The Women’s Ingwenyama Cup quarter-final matches will be held on Saturday and Sunday at various venues. Manzini Club will come alive on Saturday, with Royal Leopard Ladies facing off against Mbabane Swallows Ladies in the opening match at noon, followed by Manzini Wanderers Ladies competing against Young Buffaloes Ladies at 2:30 PM.
On Sunday, at the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Lobamba Technical Centre, Nsingizini Hotspurs will first host Mbekelweni Ladies at noon, and the final match will feature Green Mamba Ladies against AS Interladies at 2:30 PM.
The four victorious teams from the quarter-finals will advance to the semi-finals. This inaugural women’s football tournament under the Ingwenyama Cup is sponsored with a generous contribution of E100 000. The tournament commenced with 12 teams participating in the Eswatini Women’s Football Association (EFA) Women’s Football League.
The champions will receive E20 200, while the runners-up will be awarded E10 000. Each semi-finalist will take home E5 000, and the quarter-finalists will receive E3 000 each.
The four teams that commenced the tournament at the quarter-final stage include the Women’s Football League champions Young Buffaloes, along with the top three teams from last year’s league table: Manzini Wanderers, Green Mamba, and Nsingizini Hotspurs.
