MBABANE – The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Trade has reaffirmed its commitment to regional economic integration and market competitiveness by opening the 5th Programme Steering Committee meeting for the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) Regional Enterprise Competitiveness and Access to Markets Programme (RECAMP).
Held yesterday, the meeting focused on strengthening value chain competitiveness, improving market access, and transforming agri-food systems across the region. The initiative aligns with Eswatini’s efforts to enhance trade efficiency, reduce barriers, and foster sustainable economic growth.
RECAMP has been instrumental in empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by addressing non-tariff barriers, regulatory challenges, and business inefficiencies. The programme enables enterprises to add value to their products, optimize business operations, and access new regional and global market opportunities.
Speaking at the meeting, Ministry officials emphasized the importance of regional collaboration in developing resilient and competitive value chains that drive inclusive economic growth. The discussions also highlighted strategies for leveraging the agri-food sector to boost trade and industrial development.
As Eswatini continues to position itself as a key player in regional trade, RECAMP is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the country’s economic diversification and global market presence.
