MBABANE – Nontsikelelo Shabalala has been appointed intern for the Equip programme under the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA).
She will serve as the Projects Assistant under the OlympAfrica Center and will play a crucial role in supporting youth empowerment initiatives through sports, including the O!YES Project, according to EOCGA.
“Through the EQuip programme, Commonwealth Games Eswatini is pleased to announce Nontsikelelo Shabalala as the new intern for the program, and will be with the association for a period of 18 months,” reads the statement released by EOCGA.
In this role, Nontsikelelo will assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of various projects aimed at empowering young individuals through sport. Additionally, Shabalala will coordinate logistics and provide administrative support for Team Eswatini’s preparation for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
EOCGA added that the appointment reflects the organization’s commitment to fostering youth development through sport.
