MBABANE – It is fantastic news for the supporters of the Senior National Football team, Sihlangu, who wish to attend the upcoming matches against Cameroon on Wednesday (March 19, 2025) and Mauritius on Sunday (March 23, 2025).
The Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima, has announced free transport for the match scheduled for Wednesday, which will kick off at 6pm at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, South Africa.
The transport will depart on Wednesday and return following the conclusion of the match and same on Sunday against Mauritius.
Nzima shared this encouraging news while bidding farewell to the team, who will face one of Africa’s top teams in the 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers group.
“If there are fans interested in traveling to Mbombela Stadium to support the nation, we will provide a bus at no cost. This is how we demonstrate our love for the national team, and it is crucial for the players to have the fans behind them. We recognize that there are football supporters who are passionate about the team and the nation, and they wish to show their support by cheering for us,” he stated.
Many fans have been unable to watch Sihlangu in action since 2018, when the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA barred local venues, including Somhlolo National Stadium and Mavuso Sports Centre, from hosting category A matches under their jurisdiction.
Currently, Sihlangu has yet to secure a point in the qualifiers, having lost all four of their games. They are ranked 159, while Cameroon stands at 49.
