MBABANE – Health Promotion Eswatini is working hard to tackle important health issues like tuberculosis (TB), high blood pressure, HIV, and malaria. The goal is to improve health by bringing essential services closer to communities and correcting false information about healthcare. A big part of their work is teaching people about TB and other health matters, highlighting the importance of knowledge and awareness.

Health Promotion Eswatini was created to solve health problems. Many families struggle to access healthcare, especially for services like vaccinations for young children, COVID-19 shots, and HPV and yellow fever vaccines. By making these services available in their neighborhoods, Health Promotion Eswatini wants to ensure that everyone gets the help they need. Mr. Lukhele, an official from the organization, said, “We know some parents can’t take their kids to clinics due to different challenges. Our focus is to bring these vital services to the communities, making it easier for families to get vaccinations and refill medications for conditions like HIV and diabetes.”

The program also tackles misinformation and complaints about hospitals and clinics. They reach out to the community through posters and billboards to inform the public and encourage healthier habits.

At a recent event in Motshane, Health Promotion Eswatini worked with the Nutrition Council and local clinics to educate residents about medication, nutrition, and clean water. They are also focusing on the negative effects of alcohol and drugs on youth, especially with bottle stores near schools. Together with some churches, they plan to hold educational sessions aimed at teaching young people about these dangers.

By bringing healthcare services closer, correcting misinformation, and promoting healthy behaviors, Health Promotion Eswatini is working to improve the health of people across the country.
