MBABANE – The Nxumalo family, which runs JM Investments, under the leadership of Shiselweni Businessman Justice Nxumalo, has donated a heifer and three chickens towards a successful King’s Birthday.

The heifer is worth E20 000 and the three chickens are worth E250 each. This makes the total monetary value of the gifts to be E20 750. Speaking to this publication, Nxumalo said when the date for the Tetfulo (gifts) for King’s Birthday was announced, they decided not to be left behind, as they also wanted to be one with the nation in wishing the king well in his special day. He confirmed that they donated a heifer (litfokati) and three chickens to the king.

Nxumalo said the three chickens consisted of two hens and one rooster. The businessman said he did this with his family because they also wanted to wish the king well, as a family. His intention was to teach his children the custom of kwetfula (gifting) to Their Majesties. He said this was a custom that had kept the nation intact over the years, which they also learned from their elders.

The businessman said they were eagerly waiting for the day for the celebration of the King’s Birthday. He was excited by the fact that the birthday would take place in Shiselweni Region this year. Nxumalo said an event of this magnitude last took place in 2016, an event that was also graced by the presence of former South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma. Before 2016, the event had taken place in 2012.
