MBABANE – In the rolling hills of Mpolonjeni, a soft breeze carries whispers of hope — hope sparked by the heart of a king determined to uplift his people.

On Wednesday 7 May, 2025, a wave of joy swept through five chiefdoms — Mpolonjeni, Ndzangu, Shoba, Ngcina, and Sigcaweni East — as Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla arrived with life-changing news: 15 brand-new houses will soon rise from the earth, built specially for destitute children and their families, as commanded by His Majesty King Mswati III.

For years, many of these children have known the sting of poverty — fragile shelters battered by the elements, nights shivering through the cold, and days filled with uncertainty. But now, their world is about to transform. These houses will not only provide walls and roofs — they will restore dignity, security, and the childhood every child deserves.

“As a government, we are carrying out the King’s vision of ensuring that even the most vulnerable among us feel protected, valued, and loved,” said DPM Dladla, her voice brimming with emotion as she addressed community members. Parents wept quietly, children clung to their mothers, and elders nodded in approval, all moved by the promise of a brighter tomorrow.

Each house will stand as a testament to national unity and compassion — a place where laughter will echo, dreams will grow, and families will thrive. His Majesty’s gesture reminds Eswatini and the world that a nation’s strength lies not just in its wealth, but in the way it cares for its most vulnerable.

In his recent national address, His Majesty reaffirmed his deep commitment to uplifting every Liswati, declaring: “I will not rest until every Liswati has a job and a chance to build a better life.”

This powerful statement underscores the King’s unwavering dedication to economic growth, human dignity, and social upliftment — a vision echoed in these very homes now promised to the nation’s most vulnerable.

In a land often celebrated for its traditions and unity, this moment shines as a living example of ubuntu — the spirit of humanity towards others. And as the sun sets over the valleys, the children of Mpolonjeni and surrounding chiefdoms can now look forward to nights filled with peace and mornings filled with promise.

Indeed, in Eswatini, the King’s love reaches every corner — and no child is left behind.
