MBABANE – Marking an important moment in community development, Velezizweni Youth Multi-Purpose Cooperative is set to construct a vibrant youth centre that promises to be a beacon of hope and opportunity for the local youth.
Announced by chairperson Ellis Dlamini at a recent press conference, the centre is aimed to serve not only as a hub for social engagement, also as a vocational training institute targeting unemployed and talented young people.

Dlamini emphasized that the project aligns fully with His Majesty’s Nkwe Declaration, which the cooperative embraces as a cultural commitment rather than just a strategy.
The centre is designed to combat unemployment and provide valuable skills that will empower youth to overcome the challenges they face.
The youth centre will offer a safe, supportive environment where young people can build resilience, develop self-discipline, and acquire essential social and vocational skills. It will host various projects that foster individual growth, enhance self-esteem, and provide opportunities for youth to effect real change within their community.
Most importantly, the cooperative has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with four foreign companies, focusing on imparting valuable skills to the youth. With an estimated budget of E200 000, this initiative is poised to open doors for many young people eager to develop their talents and contribute meaningfully to society.
The chairperson expressed that the cooperative is determination to play an active social role, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to community development.
The Velezizweni Youth Centre stands as a symbol of hope, dedicated to uplifting the youth and supporting them on their journey to success.
